South Africa Weather

Much of South Africa has a temperate climate moderated by the oceans to the West, South and East. However, there is a significant variation in climate within the country. Many inland areas are often dry, and range from semi-arid to the extreme desert of the Namib in the Northwest near the border with Namibia. In constract, the Eastern part of the country receives quite extensive rainfall, and those regions near the border with Mozambique have a subtropical climate and lush vegetation.
